It's time to play catch up

Gee that BadLiz went and left another comment! Gee what's a person to do? LOL No really, she's a beading buddy and good friend! The picture to the left is the beading group I belong to. It's part of the "Greatlakes Beadworkers Guild" that I also belong to. They are some great beaders and good people to be with!

I also wanted to show what I had made for Christmas gifts (07) for some other friends of mine. I took a class with Anne Severine on Oct 19, 2007. It was her class for "Wild Roses Necklace" and on the 20th I took her class for "Saraguro Triple Triangulos Necklace". So the gifts I made are the two pictures (should be up top). I made five of the "Wild Roses Necklaces" and five key chains (yes, I know there's only four of each in the picture) and eleven pairs of earrings. The other necklace I referenced is for personal wear, hopefully I'll get it scanned and post it. Better yet, maybe I'll create a photo site of the jewelry I have made.
For Christmas my DH gave me a Rotary Tool and three kits from Ann Bensons site.

Rumblings of a Bead Addict

Rumblings of a Bead Addict

So Much To Do So Little Time!

Breast Cancer Quilt square, bead emboridered by LJCreations. Polymer Clay Leaf added in honor of Barb "Bent Needle" Davis

I'm sure everybody has said that at one time or other, but it sure holds true for me. And ontop of it all, it seems I don't have anything to show how busy I've been..Oh well. That's part of life!!
In the post from Tuesday 01/26 I stated that we're doing a Beaded Quilt in honor of Barb "Bent Needle" Davis. Hopefully, I can post the picture of it. I also included a Polymer Clay leaf that she had done. (Thanks Liz for letting me have the leaf)
Last time I mentioned that I was working on a embellished cuff, well I'm almost finished with it. But, I ran out of Swarovski crystal sequins, Laura will bring some more for me when she comes into town on Feb 21 for our "Bead Daze" classes. So I'm working on her kit "That's A Wrap". It is beautiful! It can be worn as a necklace or as a bracelet. It's a peyote bezeled Swarovski 10mm Rivoli (15 0f them) in Volcano color. She has some beautiful kits. If you get a chance stop by her site and check it out. http://www.justletmebead.com
I mentioned Bead Daze, I can't wait. The Guild is bringing in Laura McCabe, Lisa Nivens-Kelly, Huib Peterson Maggie Meister. I hope I didn't forget anybody. I'm taking Huib's "Monarch Butterfly" class and Maggie's "Campania Morning Walk". Both are two day classes and both are challenging bead work pieces. That's OK, it's time I started to learn this type of beadwork.

Time Got Away From Me!

Gee I really didn't pay attention to what date it is and didn't realize that I haven't posted in awhile, until my friend told me last night. (She visited the site to see what it was about.)

My Holidays were great!! Had the week off from work. Our New Years Eve party was just wonderful. I couldn't believe all the great food!

Last week at our monthly Bead-Guild meeting. (it's in a new place, nice place, just a little further to drive) We found out that we're going to be beading a bead quilt, in honor of a former member (Barb bent-needle Davis). It's mystery quilt called "Ribbons for a Cure". I can't wait to see what it looks like when it's done. Of course this will be auctioned off, with the proceeds going to a cancer foundation. Of course I got my square!

Right now I'm working on a Laura McCabe kit,http://www.justletmebead.com it's a beaded embellished cuff....It's just too kewl!

Night at the Opera

That's what this last piece I'm working on is called. It's in the Dec05/Jan06 issue of "Beadwork Magazine". This piece was created by Diane Dennis. I'm hoping on wearing it New Years Eve. I think that I'm going to be needing some more seed beads...That box is almost empty!

I didn't go Scrapbooking on Friday. We got 4 - 6" of snow early that morning and they said we might get more. So I just didn't feel like the hassle of driving and lugging in all the stuff..Next time.

Saturday I went to Rock N' Country's Christmas dance. It was fun. A lot of dancing. Chatting with good friends and just a plain old good time!

Sunday was the Pizza Party for Rock N' Country. The pizza was good (not going to say what the service was like) and nice sitting and chatting with friends. A special little friend was there and he's so cute! He's nine months old and just adorable! He's at all the dances, you really don't realize he's there. I think it's because he was a little more awake and in a very flirting mood....To cute!

My friend is in surgery today. May God be with her and I hope for speedy recovery.

"Wedded Bliss"

Yep, that's what I call these shoes. The guild had challenge to bead a shoe.(nautrally I done both) The shoes took at least 60 hrs to bead embroider. I took second place in the"Sexy" catagory.....that made me very very happy!
I found out that I won some silver pieces on E-Bay. They're Karen Hill Tribe. Can't wait to get them....but of course I placed bids on some other pieces. LOL

Gee..It's Cold Outside.

I can't believe how cold it's been!! Later on today we're suppose to get snow. Oh well...I really can't complain. We really do need it! Huh? You say. Well Christmas is coming!

I was reading on a forum earlier about the 10 top irritating Christmas songs.
Here they are:
10. The Christmas Song
9. Here comes Santa Claus. Right down "Santa Claus Lane."
8. Adam Sandler's Chanukah song
7. Jingle Bell Rock
6. White Christmas
5. Silver Bells
4. Holly Jolly Christmas
3. The Christmas Song by the Chipmunks
2. Jingle Cats meowing "Kitties We Have Heard on High
#1 most ear-ritating holiday song is... Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer
Oh Come On!!! It's the season to celebrate, not complain. These people and their "We have to be politically correct" bull....Ok I ain't going to go there.

Boy this weekned will be a busy one for me. Friday is Scrapbooking. I really need to get caught up with all my pictures. Saturday Rock n' Country Productions is putting on a dance..Yeaa! And Sunday is our Pizza Christmas party! I hope we don't get to much snow!
Hopefully...I'll be able to post more later.

My first blog.....WOW

I thought I'd try my hand at blogging. This will be something very different for me.
